Buttermilk Pie Dough Recipe. Wrap separately and chill 1 hour. Pulse flour lard sugar and salt in a food processor until you have flour covered pea sized pieces about 15 quick pulses.
Combine flour sugar and salt in large bowl. Add buttermilk all at once and process until the wet dough almost comes together. But you can refrigerate the crust overnight.
Refrigerate before baking after you roll out the pie crust and get it into your pie pan put it back in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
This buttermilk pie crust is my most favorite pie crust recipe. This is an excellent recipe that results in a flaky flavorful crust that is tender but firm enough to hold together well. Let dough stand at room temperature to soften slightly before using. Can be prepared ahead of time.
